We are David and Janali Barkman, a married couple, in love with Jesus and passionate about seeing our generation encounter His love. We both work full time for a Christian non-profit called Circuit Riders, using our different skillsets to reach people with the Gospel.
We believe that Jesus is the only real solution for a generation desperate for identity, healing, and purpose. When someone truly encounters the power of the Gospel, it doesn’t just change the trajectory of their life but has the ability to transform their families, their communities, their universities. This is why we have given our lives to be missionaries. We are fully convinced that our time and skillsets are meant to be used to introduce people to the love of Jesus, activate them in their God-given purpose, and see them to carry that same love to the world.
For David, this conviction plays out through a deep commitment to raising up a generation of bold, missional leaders. He is passionate about training and equipping young people to not only understand the Gospel but to embody it—preaching it with courage and living it with integrity in every sphere they step into.
Janali carries these same convictions but leverages the power of media to reach a generation immersed in the online world. For her, the truth of the Gospel doesn’t stop at the people in front of her but multiplies through media’s limitless reach, activating hearts and minds across the globe.
Together, we are giving our lives to see a generation encounter the transformative love of Jesus and activated into their God given purpose.
WHO IS CIRCUIT RIDERS?
Circuit Riders is a Youth With A Mission training community that launches movements to reach the next generation. We are based out of Huntington Beach, California but spend half the year on the road. Our passion is Jesus, our mission field is our entire generation and we believe our opportunity is right now.
The organization is named after the historic Circuit Riders, traveling clergy that rode on horseback to preach the Gospel, carrying only what could fit in their saddlebags, preaching every day at any place available.
THE NEED
95% - 99% of the average college campus is unengaged in a Christian campus group. They are filled with warring ideologies, depression, loneliness, partying, and purposelessness.
Suicide rates are almost twice as high as homicide rates in America and it is the second leading cause of death among 10 to 34 year old people.
THE MOVEMENTS
As Circuit Riders we are focused on activating the next generation into meaningful impact through preaching the gospel, prayer, worship and discipling others. Each of our initiatives have been birthed in prayer and are focused on meeting real needs. We are cause driven and concentrated on training and activating believers, reaching the lost, providing community, and calling people into further action. Explore the various ways we do this below.
